Locations

I focus on locations that are safe, beautiful, relatively empty and have a certain ‘wildness’ to them that is just completely beautiful. These venues are either used by other photographers who I trust, with beautiful end products, or have been used extensively by me and I know them in and out. Any additional venue fees are not a mark up – they go straight to the venue to allow us to use their space.

I have some venues in and around Johannesburg and Pretoria that are absolutely gorgeous, and I recommend a home shoot for a newborn session. Some of my preferred venues:

MABONENG, JHB	Graffiti, an urban backdrop, and lots of fun! Venue cost: a fee to an experienced guide; approx R650
IRENE DAIRY FARM, PRETORIA	I LOVE the farm! The cows, the light… Venue cost: R395.
ROSEMARY HILL, PRETORIA	Truly beautiful and unique, with stunning golden light. Venue cost: R595.
STRUBEN DAM, PRETORIA	Wild, beautiful, and almost unused in photographic circles and so completely unique. Venue cost: R168.
WILLOW WILDERNESS PARK, JOHANNESBURG	Lovely park near Edenvale.
MODDERFONTEIN NATURE RESERVE, JOHANNESBURG	Very busy on the weekends, better during the week. Venue cost: R50 per adult & R30 per child.
THE LEWIS FAMILY FARM, JOHANNESBURG	A real working farm! Lovely range of spots available. Venue cost: R600.
CASALINGA ORGANIC FARM, MULDERSDRIFT	Cacti and other unique spots with a pomegranate farm. Venue cost: R500.
GANICO ORGANIC FARM, MULDERSDRIFT	Beautiful venue and again, a real farm. Additional venue cost: R650.
HERITAGE HOUSES AROUND JOHANNESBURG	TBC; there are a few options. Additional cost.
PROFESSIONAL PORTRAITS	I have 3 venues available for this around Johannesburg and Pretoria. 2 are privately owned offices, beautifully decorated, and the 3rd is a stunning coffee shop in Pretoria that has a R500 venue fee.
