Newborn photos are such a special time for parents and form an important part of memory-keeping. The challenge is that in those first few weeks, moms are struggling with their postpartum bodies and the difficulties around breastfeeding, and don’t feel up to being all zhooshed up for a photographer. The key is to keep it casual. A buttoned-up shirt, photos on the bed, and a relaxed attitude are all your best friends here. Newborns are sleepy and sweet, and yet this stage is so emphereal and short-lived. I recommend we do these photoshoots at home to take some pressure off and capture the magic of those early weeks in your own environment.
