Frequently Asked Questions
There are some questions I get asked often, and that also might help you prepare for your photoshoot. I am always available if you have any questions or even want to send me your outfit ideas!
What do I wear?
In a nutshell, neutral and soft palettes that work well in our environment with natural fibres (like linen, cotton, wool) all photograph beautifully. You can visit my Pinterest board for some inspiration. It’s important to feel good and comfortable, and keep the terrain in mind when choosing your shoes.
Do you photograph events?
Indeed I do! I’ve done events for brands and personal parties alike.
Can I hire you to do brand and product photography?
Yes you can! I specialise in natural light, so will use natural light studios or settings that work better with this for work of that nature.
My weather app says it’s going to rain at EXACTLY THE TIME OF OUR SHOOT! What do we do?
This is part and parcel of what happens with a shoot, and yes indeed sometimes we do have to move it! However the weather apps, and Gauteng weather in particular, is very temperamental and often the apps are wrong. I will message you to move it 1 hour before the shoot if it becomes necessary.
How long till we get our photos?
It will take 2 – 3 working weeks to edit your photos to the quality you deserve. You will get them both in high res (better for printing) and low res (better for online sharing).
I’m sick or have an emergency, can I move our shoot?
Yes! If you or your little one are ill, or it’s been a wretched day, we can certainly move the shoot.
Any outfit disasters?
Stay away from unnatural materials like puffer jackets, the colour red (this tends to dominate the shoot), and graphic tees (please hide the Paw Patrol shirt from your toddler). I also recommend you keep phones, bags, and smart watches in the car for the duration of the shoot.
Can you do professional portraits?
Yes! I’ve done a few shoots like this, but primarily can do them over the weekend or Friday mornings due to the availability of my photoshoot locations (not listed here).
Do you photograph cake smashes?
I do! They are so much fun and I have gorgeous props you can hire for the shoot. I can provide the cake too if needed. I don’t do styled studio shoots, so we will choose a park or one of my quieter venues for this (not listed here).
Do you travel for photoshoots?
Yes! Let’s talk!
What time do you do photoshoots?
To get the golden light that characterises my shooting style, we need to meet at around 4.30pm (in summer) or around 5.30am. I know this is a tricky time with toddlers, but with some snacks and the fun games I suggest, it’s just 1 hour and the results will last a lifetime.
Where should we do the photoshoot?
